The Process

How We Work

01

Refurbishment Survey

A full refurbishment survey is conducted to identify all sprayed asbestos coatings, assess their condition and extent, and produce a detailed abatement plan.

02

HSE Notification

We submit advance notification to the HSE at least 14 days before works commence, as required by CAR 2012 for licensed work.

03

Licensed Enclosure

A full enclosure is constructed with polythene sheeting and airlocks. Negative pressure units maintain airflow from clean to dirty areas throughout the removal process.

04

Wet Removal

Sprayed coatings are carefully wetted to suppress fibre release before removal. Our licensed operatives use specialist tools and techniques to remove all coating material safely.

05

Four-Stage Clearance & Documentation

On completion, a four-stage clearance procedure is conducted by an independent analyst. A clearance certificate and full disposal documentation are provided on completion.

FAQs

Common Questions

Where is sprayed asbestos commonly found?

Sprayed asbestos coatings were widely used in commercial and industrial buildings constructed between 1950 and 1980, applied to structural steelwork, concrete columns and beams, ceilings, and service ducts for fire protection and thermal insulation.

Is sprayed asbestos the most dangerous type?

Sprayed asbestos is classified as a high-risk licensed material because the fibres are loosely bound and can be released very easily when disturbed. It requires the highest level of control measures and a full HSE licence to remove.

Do you carry out spray coating removal in occupied buildings?

Where possible, we schedule works to minimise disruption. Full enclosures and negative pressure units ensure zero cross-contamination between work areas and occupied spaces. We will advise on the appropriate programme for your building.

How much does sprayed asbestos removal cost?

Sprayed asbestos removal is priced on application based on the area, access conditions, and scope of works. Contact us for a free site assessment and quotation.

What documentation will I receive after spray coating removal?

You will receive a complete file including the survey report, abatement plan, waste transfer notes, air test results, and clearance certificate. This documentation is essential for compliance and property records.
