Asbestos Removal Is a Licensed Activity. Not All Contractors Are.
Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, the removal of licensable asbestos-containing materials — including most asbestos insulating board, sprayed coatings, and lagging — requires an HSE licence. Chrysotile (white asbestos) cement, found in the majority of garage roofs and shed cladding, falls under a notification requirement. Working without the correct authorisation is a criminal offence, and the property owner can be held liable.

Licensed Disposal
All asbestos waste is double-bagged, labelled, and transported to a licensed disposal facility. A waste transfer note is issued on the day.
